Inviting More Applicants to the 2010 Asian Youth Fellowship (AYF) Program

The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan, is still accepting applications for the Asian Youth Fellowship (AYF) Program for 2010 until November 4, 2009 (Wednesday).

 

The AYF Program is one of the various scholarships offered by the Japanese Government which aims to nurture human networking as well as to promote friendship and mutual understanding among Asian countries.

 

The grantees will take a preparatory course of the Japanese language and other basic subjects for 7 months at the Japan Foundation Japanese Language Institute in Kansai, Japan. Upon completion of the preparatory course, the grantees will proceed to Japanese graduate schools as Japanese Government Scholarship students.

 

-Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Natural Sciences EXCEPT Japanese Studies or Japanese Culture Studies

 

1. 16 years of formal education (from Grade 1) with excellent academic performance

2. Under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2011 (born on or after April 2, 1976)

3. Good proficiency in English

 

This scholarship is open to all Filipino citizens satisfying the above qualifications. Application forms are available at the JICC Library in Manila, the Consular Offices of Japan in Cebu City and Davao City, or may be downloaded from the Embassy Website: ( www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp ), “Culture and Education” section.

Free scholarship consultations are also held at the library of the Embassy of Japan every Friday at 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 2:00-4:30 PM. Interested individuals are requested to bring a valid ID so they can enter the Embassy premises.
