Japan-Philippines Maritime Dialogue

1. The 1st Japan-Philippines Maritime Dialogue will be held on September 9, 2011(Fri) in Tokyo .
2. In the Joint Statement in 2009, Japan and the Philippines agreed to hold the dialogue and make the necessary preparations. The Philippine delegation
will be headed by Mr. Henry Bensurto, Secretary General, Commission on Maritime and Ocean Affairs Secretariat. He will be joined by representatives from the DFA and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).The Japanese delegation will be headed by Mr Hiroshi Oka, Deputy Director General of the South Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and will be joined by representatives from the Ministry of Defense, Japan 's Coast Guard, and the Cabinet Secretariat.
3. Both sides will discuss a wide range of maritime issues and bilateral cooperation.
