To increase awareness about the opportunities to study in Japan, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippine will be supporting the “Japan Educational Seminar” on November 19, 2011 (Saturday) at the University of the Philippines UP NISMED. The fair will be run from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Organized by 13 of Japan's leading universities including the University of Tokyo, this seminar is part of a project called the “Global 30 Project” launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Government of Japan. Under the “Global 30” Project, students can obtain a degree from one of the 13 prestigious universities, all of which offer courses taught in English for both undergraduate and graduate levels.
In the seminar there will be presentations by the “Global 30” Project universities, lecture demonstrations and individual consultations. The Embassy of Japan will also provide information regarding the Japanese Government Scholarships and other related matters.
The “Japan Educational Seminar” has been conducted in several countries, including Thailand and Singapore. Last May, the event was held in Indonesia, and over 4,000 people participated in the course of 3 days. The main objective of the Seminar is to encourage aspiring Filipino students to learn more about the “Global 30 Project” and to participate in the Japanese Government Scholarship Program.
