【IMPORTANT】 Temporary Change in Consular Services

 The Government of the Philippines is implementing an Enhanced Community Quarantine over the entire Luzon for the management of the COVID-19 situation.
 Under this circumstance, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines has made the following changes for the time being to continue the provision of essential consular services while paying the maximum attention to the prevention of infection among visitors. The operating hours and the period required for the issuance of passports and certificates etc. remain the same as before.
 
1. Assistance for Japanese nationals
There is no change in the provision of assistance for Japanese nationals.
 
2. Passport
Applicants need to make an appointment over the phone in advance. (No appointment is needed for receiving a passport.)
 
3. Registration for birth, death, marriage, divorce etc. for the family register (koseki) and acquisition /selection of Japanese nationality
Only applications for urgent cases (e.g. cases whose deadline is coming close) are accepted. Applicants need to make an appointment over the phone in advance.
 
4. Police clearance and other certificates
Only applications for urgent cases are accepted. Applicants need to make an appointment over the phone in advance. (No appointment is needed for receiving a certificate/clearance.)
 
5 Registration for voting abroad in Japan’s elections
Applicants need to make an appointment over the phone in advance.
