The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines expresses its sincere appreciation for the heartfelt messages of condolences and sympathies and for the various offers of assistance being extended to those who have suffered in the recent devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunamis in the Northeastern part of Japan. The Government and people of Japan, with the assistance being extended by the international community, are currently making all-out efforts for providing rapid emergency support and reconstructing various lifelines in the affected region.
The Embassy earlier announced the information of two bank accounts of the Japanese Red Cross Society: one was to receive fund to be distributed to the affected populations, and the other was to receive fund to support relief activities of the Japanese Red Cross Society. However, according to the Japanese Red Cross Society, from now on the financial donations which Japanese Red Cross Society receives are for the purpose of distribution to the affected populations only, taking into account the amount of the fund donated so far (the donations will no longer be utilized to support their relief activities). Therefore, please direct your fund to the following bank account when you wish to kindly send your donations to the affected populations through the Japanese Red Cross Society. The donation period has been extended to March 31, 2012.
While the Philippine Red Cross Society still receives donations as explained below, it would be highly appreciated if financial donations could be directed to the following account of the Japanese Red Cross Society when possible.
