Ten groups for Grand Final top spot at the

2010 J-Pop Anime Singing Contest

 

 

 

Ten groups will showcase their raw musical talents, creativity and Japanese language skills through their performances of their favorite J-Pop and anime hits to win as this year's top performers at the 2nd J-Pop Anime Singing Contest Grand Final. It takes place on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Cyberzone Event Center of SM North Edsa.

 

Group XOR representing the Visayas region and Group Morning Star from Mindanao will be joining Manila-based groups, namely Nandarou Ettou, Seigen no Ihan, A.J.A., ProjectM Band, Himitsu, 4th Edition Family Band, Saigo no Tsuchi and Anibeat Rocks! as the Contest finalists.

 

The top three winning groups will receive free Japanese Language lessons from the Nihongo Center Foundation, free music lessons from the Center for Pop Music and Embassy of Japan certificates. Top winners will also take home gadgets from Canon, Panasonic, Sony and Toshiba and gift products/vouchers from Ajinomoto, Heritage Hotel and Yakult. Toei will also be giving out rare toys from one of their anime titles. Likewise, Hero TV will be giving a “Hero's Choice” Award.

 

The winners of the “Name the Cat” Contest will also be announced during the J-Pop Anime Singing Contest Grand Final and will be given Doraemon character goods and items from Animation International Licensing.

 

Aside from the singing contest spectacle, the audience will also be treated to other activities such as anime-making demonstration by Toei Animation Philippines, performance by the Embassy of Japan's “No Plan” Band and Nihongo teachers, anime showing at the HERO TV booth, and photo-taking with Doraemon and colorfully-garbed cosplayers.

 

This event, geared towards the youth and the young-at-heart who appreciate Japanese popular culture and music, is co-organized by the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation Manila with the cooperation of SM Supermalls, SM North EDSA, SM Cyberzone, Toei Animation Philippines, Nihongo Center Foundation, Center for Pop Music, Yoshinoya, Animation International Licensing, Ajinomoto, Canon, Heritage Hotel, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, Yakult and HERO TV and MAX FM 103.5 as media partners.
