Preparatory Japanese Language Training

For Japan-bound Nurses Launched

Japanese Ambassador Makoto Katsura attended the Launching of the Preparatory Japanese Language Training for Candidate Nurses bound for Japan on 30 March 2011 at the TESDA Head Office in Taguig City. Other attendees include TESDA Director General Joel Villanueva and POEA Administrator Carlos Cao Jr.

This training is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the governments of Japan and the Philippines that have provided Japanese language instructors and training venues respectively. This endeavor goes beyond their standing commitments in the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) and aims to further assist Filipino candidate nurses in passing the Japanese Nursing Licensure Examination after they enter and study in Japan .

A total of 82 Filipino candidate nurses, comprising the 3 rd Batch of Candidate Nurses to Japan, will undergo preparatory training from March 28 to May 20, 2011 here in the Philippines. They will then depart for Japan by the end of May and undergo six months of Japanese language training there.
