Preparatory Japanese Language Training

For Japan-bound Caregivers Launched

Japanese Ambassador Makoto Katsura attended the Launching of the Preparatory Japanese Language Training for Candidate Caregivers bound for Japan on 13 April 2011 at the TESDA Head Office in Taguig City. Other attendees include TESDA Deputy Director General Milagros Dawa Hernandez .

This training is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the governments of Japan and the Philippines that have provided Japanese language instructors and training venues respectively. This endeavor goes beyond their standing commitments in the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) and aims to further assist Filipino candidate caregivers in passing the Japanese Kaigofukushishi Licensure Examination after they enter and study in Japan.

A total of 63 Filipino candidate caregivers , comprising the 3 rd Batch of Candidate Caregivers to Japan, will undergo preparatory training from April 11 to July 8 , 2011 here in the Philippines. They will then depart for Japan by the end of July and undergo six months of Japanese language training there. As for Filipino candidate nurses, a total of 71 nurses has been taking the similar preparatory training since March 28 and will depart for Japan by the end of May.
