T o alleviate the difficulties of the typhoon victims in Mindanao, the assistance is provided through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the form of relief items which include tents, jerry cans, sleeping pads and plastic sheeting.

Typhoon Pablo (International name: Bopha) cut across Mindanao in southern Philippines on December 4 and 5, triggering a series of flash floods, landslides and flooding, resulting in massive damage, including many casualties, injur i es and displaced.

In response to this situation, messages expressing condolences and sympathies were sent earlier from Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda to H.E. President Benigno S.
