
The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines welcomes the Philippine community to “Japan Night” on February 16, 2012, at the Dusit Thani Hotel.
Japan Night is organized on the eve of the 19 th Travel Tour Expo to show that Japan is rapidly recovering from the earthquake and tsunami last year and welcoming Filipino travellers with its full charm and hospitality.
For an exceptional treat, two Japanese maiko (young geisha) will be coming to the Philippines for the first time, to give guests a truly unique performance. Guests will also be treated to a memorable night of authentic Japanese degustation meal, specially created for this event. Japanese world-famous white wine, “koshu” and “wagyu” (Japanese beef) will be served. The programme will also feature the melodious strains of the traditional Japanese instrument, koto, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, ikebana, a kimono -wearing demonstration, videos of beautiful Japanese sceneries and Japanese culture, and a photo exhibit of Japan's beautiful sceneries, food and traditional crafts.
