APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN for the 2013 Young Leaders' Program (YLP).
The Young Leaders' Program (YLP) was introduced by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology (MEXT) in 2001. It seeks to create comprehensive human network and establish friendly relationships among the leaders in Asia while improving the quality of policy planning in the participating countries.
With the aim of fostering future national leaders in Asia and other regions, YLP encourages promising young Filipinos to take part in its 1-year academic scholarship program in Japan . A master's degree will be conferred by the participating university upon the successful completion of the program.
YLP offers four (4) courses: Business Administration, Law, Local Governance, and School of Government . Classes for all courses are held primarily in English.
Interested applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with excellent academic performance, and must be highly proficient in English. Depending on the course, applicants must be 35 or 40 years old and below, with at least 3 – 5 years of work experience .
The screening of applicants is based on the endorsement of the ‘recommending authorities' for each course.
The selected grantees with begin their 1-year academic program either on September or October in their respective host universities.
