10th Batch of JDS Fellows to be sent off to Japan

Minister for Economic Affairs, Akio Isomata, of the Embassy of Japan will attend the Send-Off Ceremony for the 10 th Batch of Fellows of the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship Project or JDS on 2 August 2012 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. NEDA Deputy Director - General Rolando G. Tungpalan and representatives of Philippine Government agencies the 10 th Batch of Fellows belong to are expected to be in attendance.
This project aims to enhance the JDS fellows ' expertise in their respective fields, such as “Good Governance”, “Agriculture and Rural Development”, “Financial Reform and Investment Promotion Policy” and “Peace and Stability in Mindanao”, and to help build a pool of future Filipino leaders from various governmental institutions, such as Department of Budget and Management, National Statistical Coordination Board, Commission on Audit, etc., who are expected to contribute to the country's overall economic development by returning to and working in the Philippines.
The JDS Project is a scholarship project financed by the Government of Japan through its Official Development Assistance – Grant Aid Program. A total of 20 Fellows comprise the 10 th Batch. To date, the Philippines has a total of 199 JDS fellows.
