Messages of Sympathies from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and
Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida

 

 

1. Typhoon Hagupit (Philippine name: Ruby) landed the Philippines on December 6 and brought about massive damages, including casualties and numerous evacuees.

 

2. In response to this situation, on Wednesday, December 10, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent a message to H.E. Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Republic of the Philippines, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida sent a message to H.E. Alberto del Rosario, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines respectively, expressing their wholehearted sympathy to the people of the Philippines and stating Japan will spare no effort in providing necessary assistance and cooperation as Japan has done so far.
