Magandang umaga po sa inyong lahat. Ikinagagalak kong makasama kayong lahat sa mahalagang okasyon na ito. It is my great pleasure to be with all of you today.
First of all, I would like to congratulate you, the 7th Batch of JPEPA nurses and careworkers candidates, who have successfully passed the selection and matching process. More than 300 of you comprise the 7th batch. This is more than a 60% increase from last year. This eloquently signifies the increasing demand and expectation for Filipino nurses and careworkers in Japan.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of learning the Japanese language. Its proficiency will prove to be essential for your work and life in Japan as well as your passing the national examination. Exert all efforts in studying the language. The majority of your fellow Filipino candidates who came before you reached the equivalent of N4 Level Proficiency, which is equivalent to upper-elementary Japanese language level, after six months of training. I am sure that this task, however daunting it may seem, is within your reach.
Ladies and gentlemen, your efforts will serve as a big inspiration for the following batches of Filipino candidates. Your efforts will also contribute strongly to bolstering the friendship between Japan and the Philippines. You are, in a sense, representatives of your country.
Last but not the least, I expect that more and more Filipino nurses and careworkers will work in Japan. I, myself, may be attended to by one of you in the future. So rest assured that the Japanese Government, in cooperation with the Philippine Government, will continue to support you.
Good luck. I wish you all the very best.
Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.
