JAPAN DELIVERED PhP 22M EMERGENCY RELIEF GOODS
FOR TYPHOON PABLO VICTIMS

Embassy of Japan's Minister for Economic Affairs, Akio Isomata , turned over today Japan's emergency relief goods for the victims of Typhoon Pablo to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The turnover ceremony was held at DSWD in Quezon City this morning. The relief goods w ere received by DSWD Secretary Corazon Soliman.
The assistance, worth 45 million yen (approximately 22 million pesos), aims to alleviate the difficulties of the people affected by the calamity. It includes 300 tents, 3000 jerry cans, 3000 sleeping pads and 200 plastic sheeting that will mitigate the difficult living conditions in and around evacuation centers.
The emergency assistance was announced last Saturday, December 8 th , in light of friendly relations between the two nations and in line with the Japanese Government's commitment to assist the Philippines' disaster management efforts.
