SCADA system
The Government of Japan turned over a P1-billion grant aid water monitoring system to the Government of the Philippines in a ceremony held on September 30, 2016 in Cebu City. Ms. Tomoyo Sato, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, attended the ceremony. The turnover ceremony was also attended by Mr. Noel Dalena, General Manager of Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD). The beneficiary-representatives expressed their deepest appreciation to Japan during the ceremony.

The project involves the provision of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to MCWD for real-time monitoring of water distribution. The system will upgrade the water infrastructure, improve management of water loss and address the pollution of water sources in Metro Cebu.

Though this project, Japan looks forward to the improvement of water supply, sanitation and the general well-being of residents in Metro Cebu.
