The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan is now accepting applications for the Teacher Training and Japanese Studies categories of the 2017 Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship Program.
The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to:
Interested individuals who meet the following qualifications are eligible to apply:
Application forms and further information on prerequisites are available at the JICC Library or may be viewed and downloaded from the Embassy Website: (https://www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/00_000193.html).
The deadline for submission of applications is on January 6, 2017 (Friday) at the JICC Library. ONLY hard copies, preferably printed on A4 size paper, and mailed through courier or hand-delivered to the Embassy will be accepted.
The application process consists of a document screening, written exams, and an interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the exam and interview, which are scheduled in the third week of January, 2017.
Free scholarship consultations are offered at the JICC Library every Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Walk-in visitors are welcome to join these consultations. Please be advised that visitors are required to present a valid ID to enter the library.

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to:
- Filipino teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at Japanese Universities under the Teacher Training category; and to
- Filipino undergraduates who wish to pursue Japanese Studies in Japan for one year as part of their degree under the Japanese Studies category.
