Message of Condolences on the Passing Away of Former Senate President Edgardo Angara

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines is deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Former Senate President Edgardo J. Angara. Mr. Angara was the founding President of the Philippines-Japan Parliamentarians Association (PJPA) and who had tirelessly promoted friendly relations between our two countries. In April 2013, the Government of Japan conferred the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun upon him as recognition of his invaluable contributions to our bilateral ties. He will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have worked with him for his competence, courtesy, and his friendly personality. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his wife and family.
