We are pleased to announce that applications for the Teacher Training and Japanese Studies categories of the 2019 Japanese Government Scholarship Program are now open. Interested applicants are encouraged to check the list of qualifications below.

Category: Teacher Training
This course is an intensive year-long program that aims to develop the participants’ capacities in the following areas: educational administration (i.e. finance and management), educational methods (i.e. curriculum, learning system theory, and assessments), specialized subject research (physics, chemistry, math, etc.), and practice (specifically, in primary and secondary schools).
Eligibility Requirements
1. Filipino citizen
2. 35 years old or below, i.e. born on or after April 2, 1984
3. At least (5) five years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools as of October 1, 2019 (approx. departure date)
4. Currently employed as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school
5. Interested in and willing to learn about Japanese culture

This is a one-year advanced Japanese language and cultural exchange program specifically tailored for undergraduate students. At the end of the course, participants are expected to have deepened their knowledge and understanding of Nihongo and Japanese culture.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Filipino citizen
2. Between 18-29 years old as of April 1, 2019, i.e. born between April 2, 1989 and April 1, 2001
3. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student and majoring in fields related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture.
