Ambassador Haneda pays courtesy call on General Benjamin R. Madrigal

On 22 January, Ambassador Haneda paid a courtesy call on GENERAL BENJAMIN R MADRIGAL, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Ambassador Haneda conveyed our recognition of the importance and progress of the defense cooperation between the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Gen. Madrigal emphasized his hope of the strong collaboration on the humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operational capability as the defense cooperation relationship with Japan.
They touched upon issues such as upcoming defense equipment cooperation (TC-90, UH-1H spare parts), Japan’s support in Mindanao, and the AFP’s efforts on security in Mindanao.
