Ambassador Haneda’s Courtesy Call on Governor Benjamin Diokno, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas

On 2 April 2019, Ambassador Koji Haneda paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Dr. Benjamin Diokno. Ambassador Haneda and Governor Diokno reaffirmed the strengthened bilateral ties between Japan and the Philippines. The newly instated BSP Governor emphasized that BSP is now better equipped in pursuing its mandate through BSP’s expanded role under the New Central Bank Act. Governor Diokno also assured to handle the monetary policy carefully based on its assessment, and committed to continue BSP’s effort to achieve the financial inclusion.
