On behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of the Philippines in celebrating the 121st anniversary of the independence on June 12, 2019.
Japan and the Philippines have built a strong bond over the past decade and we are now enjoying the “Golden Age of Strategic Partnership.” This partnership is further emboldened by the recent visit of President Duterte to Japan. It is my fervent hope that the warm relations existing between Japan and the Philippines will be further enhanced in the years ahead.
I wish the Philippine people peace and prosperity over the coming year.
