Condolence Message on the passing of former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel Jr.

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines is deeply grieved and would like to extend its deepest sympathies and condolences over the passing of former Senate President Aquilino "Nene" Pimentel Jr.  He will be remembered as a true patriot and a fearless defender of democracy.  His many accomplishments, including the landmark bills such as the Local Government Code and the Act Creating the Autonomous Region in Mindanao, will continue to inspire us.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to his family, including Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, and loved ones.

May his soul rest in peace.
