5th Vice-Ministerial Strategic Dialogue to be held on September 7th, 2022 in Manila, Republic of the Philippines

1. The Japanese side will be represented by Mr. YAMADA Shigeo, Senior Deputy Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, while the Philippine side will be represented by Ms. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, Undersecretary of Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.
2. The dialogue will cover a wide range of bilateral cooperation on security and economic issues, as well as regional and international affairs. The Strategic Dialogue is expected to lead to further progress in the strategic partnership between the two countries under the Marcos administration.

Based on the Japan-Philippines Joint Statement adopted on September 2011, Vice-Ministerial Strategic Dialogue was launched in place of the previous Vice-Ministerial Policy Consultation.
