Minimum Requirements
 
  • Educational Background: Must be a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Liberal arts degree-holders (including but not limited to diplomacy, humanities, social sciences, and communications) are strongly preferred.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Exceptional command of both spoken and written English, with the ability to draft, revise, and finalize documents such as letters, formal speeches, reports, briefings, and meeting minutes.
    • Proficiency in both spoken and written Japanese is a strong asset, but not required.
  • Photography and Videography Skills: Has adequate proficiency in operating professional-grade cameras and video equipment, along with a strong understanding of the technical aspects involved.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Professional Attributes:
    • A diligent work ethic, capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks.
    • Highly organized and responsible, with a proven track record of reliability and trainability.
  • Work Experience: More than 3 years’ work experience preferred.
 
Interested applicants must submit a CV with a recent photograph (taken within 3 months), NBI clearance (may be submitted at a later date), and a 500-word essay with the topic “The Role of Press Relations in Strengthening Japan-Philippines Ties.” Submit all documents via e-mail to jicc-mnl@ma.mofa.go.jp with the subject line “National Staff Application” on or before March 22, 2024. Submission of physical documents, whether in person or via courier, will not be accepted.
 
Only applicants who have passed the first screening will be informed of the details of the written exam, which will be held around in the second half of April (subject to change).
