Foreign Minister Kamikawa held an Informal Talk with President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)

On 9 July from 10:00 a.m. local time (11:00 a.m. JST) for about 25 minutes, during her visit to the Philippines, Ms.KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held an informal talk with Mr. ASAKAWA Masatsugu, President of the Asian Development Bank(ADB).

President Asakawa explained to Minister Kamikawa about ADB’s role and organizational management amid the changing international situation, considering urgent development challenges, including climate change, the changing socio-economic situation of ADB members, and the needs of developing countries.
  1. In response, Minister Kamikawa stated that it is important to collaborate with various actors, including international organizations, and work toward mobilizing new funds, and exchanged views with President Asakawa on the mobilization of private sector resources for development.
