Ambassador Endo pays a courtesy call on the DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon

On 22 May 2025, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vivencio “Vince” Dizon and exchanged views on Japan-Philippines economic relations.

They discussed various issues in the railway and maritime sectors, focusing particularly on future developments in the maintenance of the MRT-3.

Ambassador Endo hoped that the issues of land acquisition and delayed payments to contractors would be resolved smoothly. He also expressed his optimism that the Philippines will be able to obtain the budgetary allocations for the loans required for the operation and maintenance of MRT-3.

Both Ambassador Endo and Secretary Dizon agreed to work closely together to advance both Japan and the Philippines’ transportation sectors.
