Japan Coast Guard provides capacity building support to the Philippine Coast Guard (Towing Operation Training and Seminar of Marine Environment Conservation)
2025/9/12

From 1 to 12 September 2025, the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) provided capacity building support for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) as part of the Japanese Government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA).
The Mobile Cooperation Team (MCT), dispatched by the JCG, provided instruction and guidance to the PCG personnel, including those aboard the 44m class patrol vessel (Japan-provided patrol vessel), on essential improvements in towing operations. Additionally, the MCT reviewed equipment and materials required for oil analysis, and conducted training related to oil spill response and analysis.

The JCG will continue to work with the PCG to enhance its capacity building efforts.
