Ambassador ENDO Kazuya attends the Trans-Pacific Sustainability Dialogue 2025

On 10 November 2025, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya attended the Trans-Pacific Sustainability Dialogue 2025 at Shangri-La Makati. The event was organized by Stanford University’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) and the Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future.   

Also in attendance were Senator Hon. Loren Legarda, Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, University of the Philippines (UP) President Atty. Angelo Jimenez, the United Nations (UN) 8th Secretary-General and Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future Chairman Ban Ki-moon, and Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center Director TSUTSUI Kiyoteru, and members of the academe and diplomatic corps.   

In his remarks, Ambassador Endo highlighted Japan’s longstanding contribution to UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG11, developments of sustainable cities and communities through its cooperation in enhancing public transportation and strengthening disaster risk reduction in public and private sector all over the world including the Philippines.  

The Trans-Pacific Sustainability Dialogue is an annual event that gathers researchers, experts, policymakers, and industry leaders across the region to discuss new research and collaborations in line with the UN’s SDGs. This year, the Dialogue highlighted SDG 11, which focuses on sustainable, inclusive, and resilient cities and communities.
