Japan awards Foreign Minister’s Commendation to the Stratbase Institute for Strategic and International Studies

On 21 November 2025, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya hosted a ceremony to present the Foreign Minister’s Commendation to the Stratbase Institute for Strategic and International Studies.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Endo commended the Stratbase Institute for its role in promoting understanding of Japan's foreign policy through academic exchange with Japanese experts, hosting the Japanese Ambassador and Japanese researchers at academic events, and publishing works on Japan-Philippines relations.
He further stated that 2026 marks a crucial year, coinciding with the 70th Anniversary of Normalization of Diplomatic Relations, the 15th Anniversary of Japan-Philippines Strategic Partnership, and the Philippines' assumption of the ASEAN Chairship. He expressed his determination to further strengthen the intellectual foundation between the two countries at this significant juncture.

In response, Stratbase Institute President and CEO Professor Victor Andres ”Dindo” Manhit expressed his gratitude to Japan for this award.

This prestigious honor recognizes the Stratbase Institute’s contribution to the promotion of academic exchange between Japan and the Philippines, thereby advancing friendship and goodwill between the two nations.
