Visit to the Philippines by Mr. KOBAYASHI Takayuki, Chairperson of the Policy Research Council of the Liberal Democratic Party, and His Delegation

From January 6 to January 7, Mr. KOBAYASHI Takayuki, Chairperson of the Policy Research Council of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Mr. TAKAGI Kei, Chairperson of the LDP Foreign Affairs Division, Mr. HONDA Taro, Chairperson of the LDP National Defense Division, and Mr. SUZUKI Eikei, Special Advisor to the Chairperson of the Policy Research Council, visited the Republic of the Philippines. 
 
During their visit, they visited the Philippine Coast Guard and the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP), and paid courtesy calls on Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. and National Security Adviser Eduardo M. Año. They also held exchanges of views with Secretary of Trade and Industry Cristina Aldeguer-Roque and representatives of the Philippine business community.
  
During their visit, Mr. KOBAYASHI and his delegation, together with their Philippine counterparts, reaffirmed through exchanges of views the importance of continuing close cooperation between Japan and the Philippines on issues related to the regional security environment as well as economic and industrial sectors.
