Ambassador ENDO Kazuya pays a courtesy call on DOJ Secretary Fredderick Vida

On 13 January 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Fredderick A. Vida and exchanged views on Japan–Philippines judicial relations. 

During the meeting, Ambassador Endo expressed his appreciation for the cooperation extended to the First ASEAN Law Ministers’ Meeting +Japan held in the Philippines last year. He also conveyed his gratitude for the swift search and deportation of Japanese fugitive suspects.  

In addition, Ambassador Endo emphasized the significance of further strengthening bilateral ties as this year marks the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines. 

Ambassador Endo and Secretary Vida agreed to continue working together toward the further development of judicial cooperation between the two countries.
