Ambassador ENDO pays courtesy call on DILG Secretary Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla

On 5 February 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla, reaffirming the continued strengthening of the partnership between Japan and the Philippines, particularly in the areas of public safety and law enforcement. 

During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of close cooperation in addressing shared security challenges and advancing collaborative efforts that enhance public safety. The discussion reflected the growing depth of bilateral engagement and the shared resolve to further strengthen institutional and operational ties between Japan and the Philippines. 

The two sides also reaffirmed their cooperation regarding the collection and repatriation of the remains of Japanese war dead in the Philippines.
