The 42nd Joint Meeting of The Philippines-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee (PHILJEC) and The Japan-Philippines Economic Cooperation Committee (JPECC)

On 19 February 2026, the 42nd Joint Meeting of The Philippines-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee (PHILJEC) and The Japan-Philippines Economic Cooperation Committee (JPECC) was held About130Representatives from both countries participated in the meeting, under the theme of “Building on Seventy Years of Philippines-Japan Friendship: A Bedrock of Stronger Philippines-Japan Economic Partnerships for Harmony, Prosperity, and Strategic Collaborations.” . 

During the meeting, the remarks from Prime Minister TAKAICHI Sanae and President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. were delivered by Ambassador ENDO Kazuya and Ambassador Mylene Garcia-Albano, respectively. The discussions reflected on 70 years of Japan-Philippines economic relations and focused on promoting investment opportunities, successful Japan-Philippines collaborations, and new avenues for cooperation. 

On 18 February 2026, a day before the Joint Meeting was conducted, Ambassador Endo, along with participants of the Joint Committee, paid a courtesy visit to President Marcos. They exchanged views on the deepening economic relations between the two countries as they celebrate the 70th anniversary of their ties.
