Ambassador ENDO Kazuya pays a courtesy call on Executive Secretary Ralph Recto

On 02 March 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, reaffirming the enduring friendship and close cooperation between Japan and the Philippines. 

Both sides reviewed the longstanding and friendly relations between Japan and the Philippines as they mark the 70th Anniversary of Friendship this 2026. They underscored the importance of further deepening the two countries’ “Strategic Partnership” across a wide range of areas, including security and defense, economic cooperation, the Mindanao peace process, and people-to-people exchanges, amid increasing uncertainties in the regional and global landscape. 

Executive Secretary Recto also expressed his gratitude for Japan's continued support and investment in the Philippines. 

They further exchanged views on public safety and the business environment, emphasizing the shared commitment to promoting peace and prosperity. Ambassador Endo and Executive Secretary Recto also agreed to continue active collaboration to further deepen Japan–Philippines relations.
