Ambassador ENDO pays a courtesy call on Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte

On 4 March 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya visited the Quezon City Hall and exchanged views with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte. 

Ambassador Endo expressed his appreciation for the Mayor’s cooperation in promoting the local people’s understanding of the MRT Line 3 Projects and the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) through Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA). Furthermore, noting that this year marks the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Japan Friendship, he invited Mayor Belmonte to join in the commemoration of this milestone. 


 
Mayor Belmonte gave a warm welcome to Ambassador Endo and expressed her gratitude for Japan’s ODA support. She highlighted people-to-people ties, particularly the sister city agreement between Quezon City and Chiba City. She also underscored the ongoing collaboration of Quezon City with other Japanese cities on renewable energy, showcasing inter-city cooperation. 

Ambassador Endo and Mayor Belmonte then exchanged views on the environment, disaster resilience, renewable energy, economic security, and good governance, exploring potential areas for further cooperation between Japan and Quezon City.
