Ambassador ENDO Kazuya pays courtesy call on Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Mel Senen S. Sarmiento

On 13 May 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Hon. Mel Senen S. Sarmiento.

During the meeting, Ambassador Endo expressed his hopes that the Bangsamoro parliamentary election, scheduled for September this year, will be held democratically and transparently as scheduled. He also reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting the peace process and sustainable development in Mindanao, including the Bangsamoro region.

Likewise, Secretary Sarmiento conveyed his appreciation and acknowledged Japan’s valuable support for the peace process over the past two decades. He also welcomed prospects for deeper collaboration in the future.
