Ambassador Endo pays a courtesy call on DFA Secretary Maria Theresa P. Lazaro

On 13 May 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Maria Theresa P. Lazaro and exchanged views on Japan-Philippines relations. 

Ambassador Endo conveyed Japan’s steadfast commitment to continue advancing cooperation, especially as preparations are underway for the upcoming State Visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This visit is expected to further strengthen friendly relations between Japan and the Philippines.  

Ambassador Endo and Secretary Lazaro also exchanged views on Japan-Philippines cooperation in the region, including the outcomes of the ASEAN Leaders' Summit successfully held in Cebu. Moreover, they agreed to further promote bilateral cooperation between Japan and the Philippines across a wide range of fields.
