Adoption of the Resolution Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Japan-Philippines Friendship in the House of Representatives

On 4 August 2026, the Philippine House of Representatives adopted a resolution commending the bilateral relations of Japan and the Philippines on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries. On 5 August, House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III formally presented the resolution to Ambassador ENDO Kazuya in the House of Representatives plenary hall.

The resolution recognizes this year as a significant milestone marking the 70th anniversary of Japan-Philippines friendship. As reflected in the elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the resolution highlights that cooperation is deepening across a wide range of fields, including the economy, security, people-to-people exchanges, and inter-parliamentary exchanges. It also reaffirms the commitment of the Philippine House of Representatives to continue strengthening Japan-Philippines friendship.
