On September 12, Ambassador Haneda attended the the inauguration ceremony of MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy with Secretary Tugade, Transportation and other guests in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
The academy equipped with experienced instructors and state-of-the-art training facilities is co-found by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd, one of the leading shipping companies in the world and its local partner Magsaysay group in order to secure the work-ready seafarers as technology advances.
In his speech, Ambassador Haneda mentioned the fact that Filipinos account for 75 percent of the total seafarers aboard Japanese merchant fleets and expressed his hope that competent seafarers working globally will be the fostered in the academy with both companies’ accumulated knowledge.
