Ambassador Haneda’s courtesy visit to Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio

On December 14, Ambassador Haneda paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in Davao City. The courtesy call was conducted in a relaxed and friendly During the courtesy call, Ambassador Haneda stated that he was assigned to the Philippines in the 1980s and that he is a “Balikbayan,” and he is glad to be back as he has many fond memories in the Philippines.  Ambassador Haneda emphasized that Mindanao, including Davao City, is very important in Japan’s development cooperation policy towards the Philippines.

Mayor Duterte-Carpio expressed gratitude for Japan’s support for Davao City including the provision of patrol cars to the Davao City Police and assistance in the environment sector.
