2019 Young Leaders Program Now Open for Applications

Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) - Press Release No.46 - 2018

Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Young Leaders Program (YLP).

The Young Leaders Program (YLP) is an academic scholarship program funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan. It aims to prepare young professionals from different countries for future leadership roles in their respective fields by enabling them to pursue graduate level study in select Japanese universities.

YLP applicants can choose to major in any of the following areas of study: (1) Business Administration, (2) Law, (3) School of Government - Public Administration, and (4) Local Governance. The one-year duration of this program is set to commence in October 2019 and classes will be conducted primarily in English. A master’s degree will also be conferred to participants upon successful completion of the program.

It is also hoped that friendly relations would be established among the participants through this program, leading to a solid network of competent national leaders, which in turn would yield improvements in policy planning systems and facilitate future coordination among them.
