CHANGE IN THE SCOPE OF ACCEPTANCE OF VISA APPLICATION
(IMPORTANT NOTICE)

 
The Government of the Philippines is implementing a Community Quarantine for the management of the COVID-19 situation.
 Under this circumstances, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines processes visa application as described below for the time being to give the maximum consideration on the prevention of infection by applicants, as well as to carry out its urgent duties.
 
1. Only application for following Visas are accepted.
(1) Diplomatic or Official Visas
(2) Visas to be issued for humanitarian consideration or urgent need
(3) Application for Visa for foreign nationals eligible for Phased Measures toward Resuming Cross-Border Travel (Updated on January 13, 2021)
* This is applicable to Philippine nationals and other nationals who have been legally residing in the Philippines as well.

 2. Application Procedure
(1) Visa applications must be coursed only through travel agencies accredited by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.

(2) Documents

   For applicants mentioned in 1 (3) above, please refer to https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/fna/page22e_000921.html (2. Required documents for the visa application).
(3) We will accept visa application with complete documents. Incomplete requirements will not be accepted. We may request additional documents if necessary during the process.
(4) Due to a large number of applications submitted to the Embassy at this time, we may need a longer time to process than usual. We cannot indicate a standard processing period.
(5) Please understand that we cannot accommodate requests of early release of passports based on scheduled date of departure, or inquiries regarding the status of application for smooth examination. We will contact the applicant when the application is processed.
