2021 Young Leaders’ Program Now Open For Application

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines is pleased to announce that the applications for the 2021 Young Leaders’ Program are now open.
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND
A one-year long academic program launched by the Government of Japan, the Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) aims to contribute towards the development of national leaders from various countries through deepening their understanding of Japan. The YLP is one of the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programs.
Grantees of the program may choose to specialize in one of the following areas: (1) Business Administration, (2) Law, (3) School of Government - Public Administration, and (4) Local Governance. Classes will be conducted primarily in English. The program will commence around September-October 2021, and a master’s degree will be conferred to participants upon successful completion of the program.
It is hoped that the program will help not just in the professional growth and development of its participants, but also enable them to form strong connections with fellow peers and future leaders. The ideal is for these future leaders to work together in contributing significantly to the economic, social, and political development of their home countries.

- A Filipino citizen
- A Bachelor’s degree holder with excellent academic records
- Highly proficient in English
- 35-40 years old and below (depending on the field of study)
- Employed with at least 3-5 years of work experience
