2022 Young Leaders’ Program Now Open For Applications

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines is pleased to announce that applications for the 2022 Young Leaders’ Program are now open.
 
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

The Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) is one-year long academic program launched by the Government of Japan and is also one of the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programs. It aims to contribute towards the development of national leaders from various countries through deepening their understanding of Japan.

The program hopes to help in the professional growth and development of its participants and enable them to form strong connections with fellow peers from different countries. The ideal is for these participants to become future leaders and work together in contributing significantly to the economic, social, and political development of their home countries.

Grantees of the program may choose to specialize in one of the following areas: (1) Business Administration, (2) Law, (3) School of Government - Public Administration, and (4) School of Local Governance. Classes will be conducted primarily in English. The program will commence around September-October 2022, and a master’s degree will be conferred to participants upon successful completion of the program.

CRITERIA

To qualify for the program, interested applicants must be:
  • A Filipino citizen
  • A Bachelor’s degree holder with excellent academic records
  • Highly proficient in English
  • Under 40 years old
  • Employed with at least 3-5 years of work experience
