Ambassador ENDO Kazuya meets with Japan Studies Professors from the University of the Philippines
On 22 April 2025, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya welcomed distinguished Japan Studies professors from the University of Philippines Diliman to his residence in Makati.
Professors, who are also Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship alumni, from the UP Asian Center (AC) and UP Center for International Studies (CIS) attended the meeting with the Ambassador. Among the guests were Professor Matthew M. Santamaria, Associate Professor Jocelyn Celero, Assistant Professor Karl Ian U. Cheng Chua, Retired Professor and former CIS Director Cynthia Neri Zayas, and Professor Amparo Adelina Umali III.
In his short message, Ambassador Endo conveyed his sincere gratitude to the professors. He stated, “In all your achievements, I thank you all for your efforts cultivating a culture of excellence future scholars can aspire to and uphold.”
In addition, Ambassador Endo highlighted their crucial support in advancing Japan and the Philippines’ partnerships and collaborations, emphasizing that cultural and people-to-people exchanges are the key pillars of the Golden Age of bilateral relations between the two countries.
