Ambassador ENDO Kazuya welcomes the 12th Batch of NIHONGO Partners

2025/8/8

On 08 August 2025, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya received a courtesy visit from the 12th batch of NIHONGO Partners to the Embassy of Japan. The nineteen (19) Japanese language teachers were accompanied by representatives of the Japan Foundation Manila (JFM), led by Director SUZUKI Ben.

Ambassador Endo conveyed his hope that the 12th batch’s efforts to introduce Japanese language and culture, as well as their initiatives to understand Filipino culture, will further promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the Philippines.

The NIHONGO Partners Program endeavors to support local Japanese-Language teachers and students by dispatching Japanese nationals predominantly to secondary education institutions in Asia. The Japan Foundation sends these partners from Japan to work as assistants in classes and introduce Japanese culture. They are also encouraged to interact widely outside of classes. Apart from teaching, they also get to learn about the country’s local language, culture, and customs. They are sent for short periods ranging from about six months to a year, and within this period of time, they make many discoveries and experience new things; thus, expanding their own surroundings and future.

The 12th Batch is expected to teach in schools across municipalities and cities in Benguet, Pangasinan, Bulacan, N.C.R., Laguna, Batangas, Cebu, Bohol and Davao.
