Japan, the Philippines, and the United States conduct a Multilateral MCA in the SCS

On 14 November 2025, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) JS AKEBONO (DD-108) conducted a Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) in the South China Sea (SCS), together with the Philippine Navy (PN), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the US Navy (USN). This MCA was a large-scale exercise involving a total of nine (9) vessels, including the NIMITZ Carrier Strike Group.

The three countries reaffirmed their unwavering partnership in the region and will continue to work in close coordination to uphold lasting peace, prosperity, and security throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
