On 19 November 2025, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya served as a panelist at the “International Conference on After the Peace Agreements: The Bangsamoro and Beyond” alongside fellow representatives from international partners. The conference was organized by the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) and held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.
During the session entitled “Aligning Donor Efforts in Post-Conflict Settings: Strategies for Effective Coordination and Impact,” Ambassador Endo reflected on Japan’s engagement in Mindanao for over two decades, highlighting Japan’s support for partnership-building as well as the locally-led peace process and development.
Acknowledging the evolving situation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Ambassador Endo recognized the importance of holding the Parliamentary elections at the earliest opportunity to secure the peace process and solidify institutions and development. The panel discussion also touched on the necessity of the funding priorities being responsive to the evolving needs on the ground.
The conference gathered around 200 participants from governments, civil society, academia, and international partners. It aimed to share lessons from peace processes worldwide, discuss challenges in implementing peace agreements, and explore practical strategies to advance inclusive and sustainable peace in the Bangsamoro region.
